Review: Maybelline Feline Fabulous Eye Make-Up Kit

January 31, 2015

Since its my birthday tomorrow (I'm finally turning 17 eeek), I received a lovely little present yesterday from my best friend, and when I opened it and saw what was inside, I knew I had to try it out fast and write up a review on the two products that where inside. The Maybelline Feline Fabulous kit contains two amazing products that have definitely been beauty hypes at some point in the blogging community. I know I'm a little late on the bandwagon with them, even though I knew that I had always wanted to give them a go, especially the mascara, but every time I went shopping for makeup I would always forget to pick one up, or find something else that I wanted to try.

Okay, so first up is the mascara, and the thing that I was most looking forward to if I'm going to be completely honest. The packaging, although not as sleek and sophisticated as other high street mascaras, is very fun and quirky with a mixture of bright pinks and greens. It's the perfect spring/summer mascara since the colours are so bright, and what makes it better is the fact that its a buildable mascara, so you can control how dramatic or natural you want your lashes to look. The wand is also quite small, which is perfect for those little bottom lashes that are always so hard to get to with bigger  bristles, although most of the time I never bother doing my lower lashes as I feel that my eyes are big enough without making them look even bigger. The application itself is very easy, and even just putting on one coat really lifts your lashes and gives them volume and length at the same time. Overall, I just really love this mascara even though I've only used it once, and have a feeling that it's going to be a new favourite of mine.

As for the eyeliner, I was so happy that it was gel because for a long time thats all I've seemed to use, even my pencils haven't being getting that much love anymore, well except the odd few that I throw in my makeup bag for college because it would just be too much to be carrying around a pot of gel liner and a brush to apply it with, and then there's the mess that the brush will leave from excess product. I was also going to skip using the brush because I have my own specific one that I like to apply my eyeliner with, and to be honest, the one that it came with looked more like a very small lip or detail brush.

However, I was massively surprised at how easy it was to use and it gave me the same results (maybe even better) than my other slanted brush. The tiny little bristles ensured that I had complete precision and control of the thickness of my line, so is once again, buildable depending on how dramatic you want it to be. The little box that the products came in also says "Our liner revelation: Intense colour and lasting wear in an easy-to-apply gel. Get a natural or dramatic look - you choose", as well as stating that it has 24 hour wear, which is something that I totally agree with because this baby has not budged all morning.

If your interested in buying them separately then their full names are:
- Maybelline Great Lash Mascara
- Maybelline Eye Studio Lasting Drama Gel Eyeliner 24H

Have you ever tried any of these products? What are your thoughts on them?
