The Beauty Blogger Tag

Why did you start blogging and how long have you been blogging for?
I started blogging because makeup and fashion, and pretty much anything in that field has always been an interest of mine ever since I started watching my first beauty guru videos on YouTube (which was either bubzbeauty or Blair from juicystar07), and ever since then it has always been a growing passion of mine. I just want to share my opinions and showcase my own voice just like everyone else because I believe that in this community everyone should have a say and express their own thoughts and opinions, which is why blogging is no competition, it's a community and family. I would also love to do something in these fields as my future career which is what I am currently working towards, if you read my first blog post then you would be familiar with that. I also think that creating this blog will give me great experience and will also look really good on my personal statement for university too. Ooh also, I have only been blogging since January which is not that long, and I can't believe how much support and recognition I have received so far, so thank you to everyone for reading my blog and interacting with me because I now really feel part of this amazing community.
Whose blog did you fall in love with first?
Definitely Zoe's (aka Zoella) because she has always been an inspiration of mine and I still look up to her today, especially because she has shown so much potential and has even brought out her own book and beauty line. It's just crazy to think that she has got so far, yet she only started how every blogger starts, which proves that anyone can do pretty much anything when they set their mind to it. I also absolutely love her style whether it's her fashion style or her interior choices.
What was the first blogosphere hyped about product that you bought? Was it worth the hype?
Even before I started this blog, the first ever hyped about product that I bought absolutely ages ago and it's still raved about today in the blogosphere is the Collection Lasting Perfection Concealer, and as any beauty blogger would know, it is definitely worth the hype. I mean what's not to love? It has amazing coverage, a lovely consistency, it stays put for hours, and it's also really cheap for a drugstore concealer.
What are you five favourite things about blogging and being a Beauty Blogger?
- Meeting new people and making new friends who I share the same interests with
- Discovering new products and cosmetics
- Recieving amazing oppurtunites like attending blogger meet ups and meeting the new friends we make online in person, which makes everything so much more real and personal.
- Being inspired by other blogs whether it's in the makeup and fashion field or just for life in general
- Having something productive to do in my spare time, whilst also doing something that I love and enjoy
What have you learnt from being a Beauty Blogger?
I have learnt that in this community it's okay to have your own voice and your own say about things because every blog is different and everyone has their own views. Opinions are welcome in the world of blogging and I just love that I am able to showcase this voice to express my opinions about things that I love and that I'm passionate about.
Have you changed anything since becoming a Beauty Blogger?
Nothing drastic because I am still the person I was before starting my blog, it's just this time I am sharing my views, my likes, my dislikes and my passions with the world instead of keeping them to myself. Although, I have changed my schedule and have now decided to dedicate a little time on Sunday's so that I can have a blog photoshoot for upcoming posts in the following week.
What advice would you give to a beauty blogger just starting out?
My advice would to just be yourself, and don't try and be like other blogs just because they are successful or they are getting more recognition than you. Plus, everyone starts at the bottom and who knows, maybe you could be the next biggest blogger, blogging isn't about the fame and the popularity even though it's amazing how far some people have come from sharing their thoughts and writing reviews. So just have your own voice because if your creating fake content which doesn't show off your own personality and own writing style then it's just going to get boring and you will only end up putting yourself down about it. Just enjoy it and make your blog for you, not for anything else.
