Review: Revlon ColorStay Concealer

April 29, 2015

It looks like I have finally stepped out of my Lasting Perfection comfort zone because yesterday I decided to try out a completely different concealer for the first time in like forever, no thanks to all of my shade being out of stock. The one I decided to try out was Revlon's ColorStay Concealer in 02 Light. It has a doe foot applicator which is my favourite because the angled wand allows you to get as much product out of the tube as possible, and overall, I would say that it has full coverage and conceals dark circles and discolouration perfectly. However, I have really bad acne on my chin at the moment and it doesn't seem to conceal it as well as the Collection one does, but I reckon if you had one or two small breakouts then it would conceal them with good coverage.

I also really like how it brightens and lifts my under eye area as I'm always attracted to concealers with highlighting properties when its for under my eyes, like Rimmel's Wake Me Up, especially with Summer just around the corner. This concealer is going to be perfect for summer since its lightweight, has a light consistency, reasonable coverage, works for under eyes, acne and discolouration, and is relatively easy to blend in as it doesn't dry up too quickly. I'm definitely going to keep purchasing my Lasting Perfection as my makeup collection wouldn't feel complete without it, and if I continue to like the ColorStay as much as I do now then I might possibly think about repurchasing this one as well as I think they would both be the perfect concealer combination.

I would use Revlon's ColorStay for highlighting the under eye area, and Collection's Lasting Perfection for any acne, redness, and discolouration. The only thing that I'm not particularly fond of is its scent which is rather strange since I've never used a concealer with a specific scent as I tend to stay away from as many fragranced face products as possible. I also would have went for the lightest shade in the collection which is 'Fair' but there were only two shades on the shelf and 'Light' was the lightest shade available.

  1. This concealer looks great, I'm always looking for new concealers to try! Really annoys me when the stores don't keep their shades stocked up, don't they realise once we've run out of concealer it's a code red emergency situation haha! it's the one product I have to replace almost immediately x

    1. omg yes, I completely agree with you haha, I literally buy a new one the minute the one I'm using starts to dry up and I find it quite difficult to get out of the tube x
