Christmas in My Home Town

December 21, 2016

All month whilst being at University I knew that there was one thing I wanted to do the second I got back home; go and see my towns Christmas lights! What perfect time to do it than my first (proper) day back. I went into town today with my mum, brothers and sister to finish the last of my Christmas shopping, whilst awaiting for it to get dark of course so we could see the lights properly. It was also the first time my family had seen them as well, so they were just as impressed as I was. The lights were so pretty, especially once it started to get darker. I have to admit, my home town hasn't always had the best reputation when it comes to decorating for Christmas, but they really pulled out all the stops this year.
These were definitely one of my favourites as they looked so dazzling once it got darker. However I used to absolutely love this gigantic sparkly blue christmas present, which they put up last year where the reindeers are now standing. I was so disappointed when I found out that they never put it up this year. Even though its a small town, there was still plenty of space left that they could have used for it.
I so desperately wanted my little brother to go inside Santa's Grotto. I can only imagine how adorable the photos would have been. Maybe next year!
This was also a new addition this year as I've never seen my town do this before. I didn't even notice it when it was still light out until my mum pointed it out.
