New Years Day

I absolutely love writing lifestyle posts because it gives me the chance to be a photographer for the day as well as being able to look back on my year. To mark the first day of 2017, my auntie organised a family get together, which was the perfect blog post opportunity. It was a super chilled out afternoon, just what we needed after the excitement of Christmas. It was also nice to spend some time with my family all together in one place before I go back to University.
Seen as though the Christmas season has come to an end, which means all of the decorations will be coming down, I couldn't resist taking a few final photos of my favourite decorations. I'm so sad to see Christmas go, but also so excited to get started with the new year. I fell in love with the red lantern below as I had never seen anything like it before. The Santa Clause was also gigantic, nearly life-size! It was such a surprise in comparison to my mums little Santa Clause at home.
The spread was absolutely incredible and definitely very much needed! After the best late lunch I have had in a very long while seen as though I'm now prone to the typical student diet, we all then lounged around in the living room for a few hours before heading back home. It was definitely the best way to welcome in the New Year!
