How To Sport Statement Stripes This Summer

There's nothing I love more than a change of season, which is the best excuse for a wardrobe revamp. After the excitement of London Fashion Week this February, there have been so many new trends that featured on the catwalk and are now appearing on the high street. Of course, it would be a total dream to own the wardrobes of top designers and models like Vivienne Westwood and Bella Hadid, but for the majority of us, this remains a dream and we are left with our good ol' high street chains. In todays blog posts, I wanted to share some of my favourite garments that are very much appropriate for this new Spring trend, but are retailed at a slightly more affordable price range.
If you're looking for a more laid back, simplistic approach then Topshop has you covered. This crisp blue and white striped shirt combines two S/S17 trends in one; florals and stripes. Keep it casual and pair with some light wash blue jeans. You could even leave a button or two undone to create that laid back vibe, but if you're wanting to go for something a little more formal, then there is nothing stopping you from slipping into a tight fitted pencil skirt. Something with a little colour will be perfect for the upcoming season. However keep it to a block colour as the shirt already draws in enough attention with its pattern and detailing.
A little something for the warmer weather. As shirt dresses become a more popular dress choice, especially in the warmer seasons, Misguided brings a dress that is ready for 2017. It has stripes, ruffles and exaggerated sleeves. All of which are major trends this season. The relaxed silhouette makes it a perfect choice for the warmer months as there is plenty of space for movement and breathability. Just make sure you stay away from the cartwheels.. well, at least whilst you're wearing the dress.
The final garment of choice are these black stripe trousers from New Look. The reason for this is because whilst fitting in with the current trend, they are also very versatile. You can wear them with a casual tee and some converse if you're wanting to keep it casual. However, if you prefer something a little more sophisticated, then swap your tee for a crisp white shirt and change you converse into some simply strappy heels. A statement necklace wouldn't go amiss either!
