The Town of Witney

July 04, 2017

The night before my uncles wedding, myself and my family decided to walk through the town of Witney, Oxfordshire which is where my auntie had grown up. It was the most beautiful little town and 100% my cup of tea. I absolutely love little old towns like Witby and York, even Huddersfield, as everywhere you turn, there is always so much history and I just find it so fascinating. Anything that connects me to the past is incredibly intriguing.
The night was a tad bit overcast so the photos don't have the best quality, but I was so eager to share them. It's a shame we didn't have much time in the town as I would have loved to have spent more time there. There were so many pubs, like you would expect from a village, so there was no issue when looking for a place to eat. They also had little independent shops that you would find at the seaside; from vintage clothing to wedding dresses to trinket stores. It was also no surprise to see the odd designer store. Although shops were already closed for the day by the time we got there, so we never had the chance to look inside a few and really explore the town. However, I wasn't too disappointed because we had a dreamy wedding to attend!
Our initial plan was to have dinner at Wetherspoons which was absolutely massive compared to the the Spoons back in Hudds. However, when we got there, it was jam packed with people and we struggled to find a table big enough for everyone. In the end, we came across a little pub that also had a little outside seating area where we ended up sitting for a few drinks afterwards. It was a truly lovely night and was the perfect way to chill out before the hectic wedding morning. I managed to do four peoples makeup as well as getting myself ready and arriving at the venue early in the space of a couple of hours. I was very proud of myself indeed!
